A statue of the Virgin Mary, along with other grave markers dot the landscape of the Historic Elmwood Cemetery, in downtown Columbia, S.C. The cemetery is listed on the National Historic Register, and contains graves dating back to the early 1800's, as well as a separate grave yard for unknown Confederate Soldiers.
